Finally in Malaysia

I arrived in Malaysia to be greeted directly off the plane by a man shorter than I am to tell me that both of my suitcases are not in Malaysia and that coming back tomorrow to check on them would be best. All I can really do is pray. I didn't have any other problems entering the country and the internet connection I am temporarily using isnt very fast so I'm going to wait to put pictures up.
Just as I expected about 30 minutes ago it really hit me that I am going to be away from everyone for 5 months. I can't decide if im nervous or excited or thrilled, but I'm leaning towards the nervous side. It is HOT here!.. A welcome change from the current state of things in the south. I am pretty exhausted and trying to take everything in but its very overwhelming. I'll try to get on later tonight.

Oh my goodness Seth, maybe now I can get some sleep. It's 3:55 a.m. and I am SO glad to know that you are there. Don't worry about your luggage, it'll make it, I'll wake your Dad up and we will pray! :)

I am just so relieved that you are there safely and I know you are exhausted. Get some rest, hang in there - it's all good! I stopped by Walgreens tonight and bought a box to begin collecting items for a care package - a little piece of home - and no, Jadyn can't fit in the box. I love you and we are just SO VERY PROUD of you. June is just around the corner! Email me and let me know of anything you need.

Thanks for updating the blog, I can wait on pictures, but just knowing that you are FINALLY there and safe does me a world of good.

I love you,
Mom

Seth...I checked your blog at 4:00 AM and seen that you had arrived safely, but I wasn't at myself enough to leave a comment. I'm so thankful for your safe and uneventful (except for the luggage) trip. Your luggage will catch up, if not look up the shorter guy and borrow some of his clothes! I too am so proud of you and I love you bunches & bunches. Do you need a care package from E TN too? Probably all you would have to do is to mention a few things you might be needing and I'm sure someone would see that you get them. Love, Sissy

Seth, don't worry about your luggage; it'll arrive soon. If it was easy, anyone would do it. Just make sure turn your underwear inside out. :)

I know you're nervous about not being home. That's only natural. But, I want you to remember that a call to be a disciple of a Rabbi in the NT was a call to leave family, friends, home, etc to follow the master everywhere he went. Also, leaving home to study the Torah was the most honorable thing a person could do.

Read Luke 18. When the rich man didn't want to give up his wealth to follow Jesus, Peter reminded Jesus that the disciples had given up everything to follow Him. Jesus said, "I tell you the truth, no one who has left home or wife or brothers or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God will fail to recieve many times as much in this age, and in the age to come, eternal life."

In Luke 14, Jesus said, "If anyone comes to me & does not hate his father & mother, his wife & children, his brothers & sisters, yes, even his own life, he cannot be my disciple." Obviously, Jesus didn't want you to hate your parents. In the Jewish world, to hate something meant to make it secodn place or to love it less.

Seth, words cannot express how proud of you I am. I still get emotional when I read your blog because I'm so proud. I can't wait to see the man you become through this experience. God wll give you all you need emotionally, physically, relationally & spiritually. Hang tough, I promise, it will get better. God called you; He WILL provide.

Skype us as soon as you can & keep you blog updated. We want pictures.

I love you son,

Dad
